A Bevvy of Glass: Tips for building your glass cache

I love, love, love collecting glassware. I've worked at many restaurants and bars that make sure to have a stash of vintage glasses to use for their "dealer's choice" option and it really does make it feel all the more special. Every time I stop in a thrift store, I scour the shelves for a unique piece to add to my cache. I follow one rule: never buy a full set. The only sets that I own have been gifted to me. I even avoid pairs, almost always buying singles. It is nice having a set at home on a rare occasion but it's way more fun to mix it up and dish out different styles for each guest. Keep in mind that IF you are shaking up cocktails for your party with a particular recipe that the glasses you choose will hold the amount of liquid you are planning on pouring into it. However, if you've whipped up a punch, let the guests pick their vessel. And frankly, it's way easier than keeping track of whose glass is whose than using those charm things. Cheers!
